New Year

It's time to say goodbye to the past year and move on this coming year, 2011. I'm hoping a lot of change this year especially since it'll be the first year after my legalization...after I've turned 18. Hahaha!  This is also my first year with my baby, netbook! Yey~ I will not post my resolution here since I already know all of it by heart. Of course, I intend to do it all! Be good to us 2011!

Yakimix & MMFF: RPG Metanoia

I just found out this great eat-all-you-can store at Trinoma today. The store was called Yakimix. From the name itself, they serve japanese food, primarily yakiniku. Yakiniku is a grilled kind of food. Yakimix's food was great. I was stuffed. They also have bottomless drinks and a wide variety of foods. They have heavenly desserts too! I should have had more of those cream puffs! Oh and you can avail of their eat-all-you-can at only 499php if you go there by lunch time which is  from 11am-2pm. Otherwise you will pay about 580php, if my memory serves me right.

My choice of meal...before I actually attacked the nikus

After the yakiniku trip, I watched RPG Metanoia with my older brothers. I was really laughing at the things they were saying and doing. There are just some part where you couldn't help but laugh your ao. A little spoiler but the movie itself is similar, I mean, reeeeaaaallly similar to .Hack// where the main characters were Tsukasa, Subaru, and the other guys. Anyway, it was still fun to watch. So much for the Metro Manila Film Fest. I didn't even feel that what I watched was a 3D. The trailers shown before the actual movie was more of a 3D than the movie itself. At least we can already do some decent animation.

New Shoes & Another Necklace

Hey, I was out today with one of my college classmates to buy something for someone. We managed to go around 4 malls in a day. It was tiring. My feet almost died.

Anyway, the day was somehow productive for me. You see, I consulted my family if I should buy another shoes that I could use in and out of school. So I bought another one during this day's trip.

Black Flats from City Girl

Also, since we got as far as SM Megamall, we stopped by Forever21 where I bought another necklace I found interesting.

Necklace from Forever 21

After some more walks, we decided to go home. >_<
This post is a little short but bear with me because I don't want to go on and on about things I myself find insignificant. Haha.

Christmas of the Family = GIFTS!!!

This is my first Christmas to actually coordinate a working outfit.Well, thanks to my fashion icon, Tricia Gosingtian.

Me! Being vain. Taken by my brother, Gel.

Unopened Gifts

Opened Gifts
The day is fun really. After breakfast, which was actually a brunch because we slept in, we went to church first just to pay a visit. Then we headed to my grandparents' house as we usually do every year. We played with my baby cousin, Kirk. He was really ecstatic to see so many people visit the house. And of course, there were gifts. I wasn't really expecting too many gifts to open this year because I usually just receive money since I entered adolescence. My brother and grandfather gave my presents earlier. My brother gave me gift passes to use at Forever 21 where I got my outfit for the day. I didn't open my present from grandpa until Christmas. It was two Armando Caruso handkerchief and some money. I'm not going to mention the total amount of money I received for Christmas. LOL. Anyway, Aunt Maret gave me a Disney Tee and a portable folded bag, Uncle Dan and Aunt Kitchie gave me chocolate which was apparently from Kirk and some money too, and Aunt Monette sent us some money. My Aunts, Uncles, and Grandparents from my mother's side gave their Christmas gift on my birthday last November. I'm surprised that I still haven't spent it on things I really want. Well, not all of it.
Cross Necklace from Forever 21. I'm really loving it~ <3

The day was pretty much about reunions, food, gifts, and more food. Anyway, it was still fun. Next up, NEW YEAR!!!

Christmas Shopping

Today, my dad, tita She, and I went shopping as part of our yearly sort of tradition in the family. As usual, I am the only one to shop for the whole day as long as I want since I really need a lot of time to figure out what I want and need at the same time.

It was my first time shopping at forever 21 and I definitely enjoyed it. Using the gift passes I received from my brother, I was able to buy an accessory and the neko sweater I've been keeping my eyes on ever since I saw Tricia blog it in her tumblr. So after F21, I settled at the department store for some new shorts. My dad did not approve of the high-heeled shoes I wanted so we ended up buying ankle boots instead.

It was raining cats and dogs when we got outside. Fortunately we managed to get a ride immediately. I believe my dad got tired because of me but he put up with it. I'm really thankful for today. ^_^ Yay!

Bitterness of -Eri-

I believe that I have made myself clear several times now. How come there you are still breaking most things we agreed upon? I am not going to go on and on repeating what I already said over and over again like some broken cd. Sometimes, try to be a little bit more aware of what others are going to feel with your actions and decisions. Try to consider the consequences on their side too. Then, again, I guess you just don't have it in you. You have other dreams in life aside from the path you are taking now but you might not have a chance to accomplish such big of a thing. For all I care, you can only do things halfheartedly just like the relationship we are in. Nothing is finished properly. No end has come. Nothing is settled.

Christmas Party

The backdraft we spent two nights
with little sleep...so tiring
I don’t have enough energy to tell every single detail of our Year-end party since I’ve been sleep deprived for three days so I’ll be cutting things short with what happened.
-I was in campus by 6:35am with two unread messages, 2 missed calls, all from my partner in decorating the room, Jan Mae (jamae), and a huge paperbag with most of my stuffs in it.
A centerpiece for our room. The
color scheme resembles Mexico's
flag doesn't it?
-As we prepare the room, with all sorts of thingies, one by one, some of our classmates arrived. There were some problems but we managed to get everyone’s cooperation so everything worked out in the end.
-Mel arrived later than expected and she was wearing a really girly top. I asked her if she would like to put some make-up on to match her outfit. With little persuading, she said yes.
-It was hard to make Mel close her eyes and relax. She was having these tremors when attempting to maintain her eyes closed. Still, she tried hard to achieve what we needed.
-When I finished with her make-up, she said that she couldn’t believe her reflection in the mirror is really her.
-On my part, I had fun applying her make-up on because of her fair skin. She didn’t have any problem when it comes to color combinations.
Candy canes without the white part
-The party started with a prayer, and then the games.  First was a girl holds a lollipop near her navel and a guy will suck the lollipop until it is no more. The next games were modified charades, pinoy henyo, and  egg catching.
-After eating our foods, we watched different performances by the girls’ and the boys’ representatives, and the acting committee’s drama.
-Oh, I can’t forget all the MOE scenes I saw as the guys danced. There were touching here and there, close faces, seductive hugging…Kyaaa!! The BL~ <3
-The drama lasted for an hour and a half but there were so many gags that we would be able to handle more if our adviser doesn’t need to go someplace else at 3pm.
-As for the exchange gifts, I wasn’t able to get mine because the one who was supposed to give it to me had a contest to attend and didn’t even bother leaving my present to someone else. BUMMER!
-Except for the exchange gift, the party was a blast. My attire was also well complimented by my professor and my classmates. FUN FUN FUN!!!

We Scream for Ice Cream!!!

I was supposed to tell this story last week but I got lazy so I'm typing it away now...

As our classes for the last days before Christmas got crazier and crazier, we had some time to go out and unwind a little. Mel and I went to Robinsons Ermita and looked around the shops there. We got critical of clothes, found some good stuff, and laughed at items that made us remember other classmates. When we finally got tired, finished all good shops, we decided to eat. It was a drag since I didn't have any money on me. Fortunately, I have my card so I withdrew some money from my account. At first, the machine won't let money out since I was asking too little it seemed. In order not to delay other people behind me (yes, there was a line...I hate lines), I just choose the lowest denomination the machine offered in the options. I finished. Walking around the mall, we happened to pass by the ice cream store I am so fond of, Dippin' Dots! I asked my friend if she was familiar with their ice cream and she said no. Well, one of my habits, I asked her if she would like some, my treat of course. She was hesitant at first but I manage to push it into her. Basically, I just had to order and pay up before she could stop me. Haha! Then we enjoyed the food. As we eat, we decided to take pics of the cup, and the ceiling of the mall that looked like a sewer gate. After a little more walk and a discussion about someone, we headed home. It was fun!

A March to Free the 43 Health Workers and an Emergency?! Well, Almost.

I am not really fond of joining marches for many reasons. Some of which are:
  • There are many people. I do not like it when there are too many people where I am. It just annoys me. For some reason, it just does.
  • It's hot. Most marches are done either in the late morning of early afternoon. I am working on getting my skin color even so it would not be a good idea to stay out in the sun for long.
  • My skin is sensitive to too much heat or cold. Either way, it gets dried and I have to apply moisturizing lotion over and over.
  • People will reek after some time. Of course, people will be walking and naturally they will perspire and when they do, some bacteria will be so delighted.
Anyhow, I did not write just to discuss that so going back on the topic.

We were told to attend, as part of our activity in class, a march of advocacy to free the 43 health workers who are being held prisoners because of an accusation that they were making bombs with the training they were doing as a facade. I have to admit that I, too, viewed the same opinions as those who organized the march. It is too unjust to imprison a group of people without a really hard evidence.

We walked from the University of Santo Tomas to Mendiola Peace Arch. It was a very perspiring, tiring, feet-burning walk. We were screaming, "Free Dr. Merry, Free the 43! 43 Health Workers, Palayain! Free! Free! Free the 43!", as we go our way. Actually, there was a bit of fun especially when some of the motorists got caught up in the wave of the crowd. We literally trapped cars within our group!

Our necessity to be there ended at noon. Understandable because that was the end of our class with our professor. We all headed back to school afterwards just to find out that we wouldn't be able to meet our prof for the last subject. We headed home.

As I walk with my classmates, I saw two figures along the wall of Intramuros. When I looked at them hard enough, it was Mary and Anna Marie(AM). I walked to them and found out that Mary had an attack (she hyperventilates when put under too much stress). I decided to stay with them until some time since I didn't really want to  go home during the rush hours. We stayed at a nearby store and chatted to calm things down a bit. AM was such a failure when I told her that I have a lower respiratory tract infection(LRTI) so I have a cold. It was supposed to be an LRTI and cough but she got lost between my words and started wondering what would be the right combination. That made Mary and I settle down and laugh at AM. When Mary regained some of her spirit and strength, we headed home.

Oh, I almost forgot. Just to keep track of things, we get to tease CG so baaaaad today. ^_^ We paired her with one of our classmate and made her our destressor for the whole class. BAAAAAD!!!!

Hachiko

It all started with a blog. I fell for the bait and ended up watching it. Simply put...I cried. I sort of made a joke on what would happen so it hit me pretty hard when I saw that I was right.

(Spolier Alert!!!)

Hachiko: A Dog's Story (2009) is a film based on a true story about a dog who faithfully waited for his master to come outside the train station even after his master's death. It portraits how a simple meeting could become something special in the course of time and how a dog could care for a human buddy so much to go to that extent of waiting for years. This is an awesome tear-jerker especially for animal-loving, specifically dog-loving people.

I like this film because I never really knew why that statue of a dog stood there in front of Shibuya station. I also thought that the characters I knew only called that statue Hachiko for fun and it gave no special meaning. I've been encountering the name Hachiko but I never really knew the real "Hachiko". Now I can correct what I knew and never again make fun of that dog that stood at the station for that dog, Hachiko, is a loving, caring, loyal friend like no other. But somehow, even if I want a dog like Hachiko, deep in me, I don't want that to happen to my dog. It will make me have mixed emotions of feeling bad for leaving him behind yet feel happy for waiting for me all along.  I do not regret the tears I shed while watching this movie. Hachiko, BANZAI!!!!

A Tribute to Andres Bonifacio: Chorale Concert

I wasn't quite in the mood yesterday so.

Our professor in ethics made our class attend a chorale concert in celebration of Gat Andres Bonifacio's birthday, November 30. For those who doesn't know who Bonifacio is, he is one of country's heroes. He lead a rebellion group called KKK against the Spaniards. Now, the concert was held at the PhilAm Life Auditorium. I went there late purposefully but found out that I was the first one to arrive. Once again, I proved how our people are so not strict on time. We waited another whole hour before everyone else arrived. Still, there were some who didn't show up. We were not even more than 20. The show was great and one of their songs sent tears running down my face. Here are the songs the Andres Bonifacio Choir sang at their concert:

  • Inday Pamutas Na
  • Walay Angay
  • Si Nanay Si Tatay
  • Atin Cu Pung Singsing
  • Sitsiritsit
  • O Naraniag Nga Bulan
  • Unsaon Ko
  • Dungawin Mo Hirang
  • Maalaala Mo Kaya
  • Ang Tangi Kong Pag-ibig
  • Iniibig Kita
  • Sa Ugoy ng Duyan
  • Jocylenang Baliuag
  • Kayumangging Malaya
  • Alay sa Inang Bayan
  • Bayan Ko
  • Pilipinas Kong Mahal
  • Payapang Daigdig
  • Maligayang Pasko sa Lahat ng Lahi
  • Pasko Na Naman Sa Bayan Kay Ganda
  • Noche Buena, Kay Sigla Ng Gabi
  • Kasadya Ning Takna-a
I hope I'll be able to attend more of this kind of show in the years to come! ^_^

Sick and A Late Morning Dream

When I woke up this morning, my body felt heavy and I have trouble swallowing. I slowly rose from my bed and brushed my teeth. I also gargled just to be safe. I used my netbook for a while and read some manga online. I could not last long so I decided to sleep again. During my slumber I had a dream...

There was a school seminar with food included. Preparations were made and there on that event was my friends and acquaintances like Mel, CG, Jan Mae, Reyjim, Raphael, Anthony and also some kids I know nothing of. Everyone tried to arrange the tables and seats. I also helped so I left my things on a chair and table near my friends. After a while, the tables got jumbled up and I got confused as to where I would sit. I found my seat with some kids and a guy who knows me although I am not familiar with him. After eating, some man who looks like a professor of dark magic, started asking questions about scenarios. If my memory serves me right, it was about emergency situations or something along those lines. I sort of spaced out while the others were answering and so I was called by the guy near me on our table. I answered the professor looking guy but he interrupted me in the middle of my explanation and started insulting the lot out of me. I sat down listening to all the gibberish he was saying and when I have had enough, I stood up to him and said, "Sir, may I finish what I was saying?". This made him furious and I was sent out of the function room. I even saw the principal from our elementary school.

Outside, counselors took my side and helped me overthrow the man who unreasonably kicked me out. Afterwards, I met with my friends. We rode a jeep and demons started attacking us. One even pretended to give a helping hand but bites you when you hold it. It was really scary. Good thing I managed to throw them overboard at the last minute.

When I woke up, it was already afternoon. My body seemed worse than before so I took my time in rising up and took my temperature. It was 38.1 degrees Celsius. I found out I am febrile. I took some paracetamol since I also have malaise and couldn't prepare TSB. I rested for some time before I finally had the energy to even use my computer to browse the net.

Badminton: IN and OUT of the classroom~

We had our first formal badminton class today and we already had practical tests! I wasn't really well-versed when it comes to sports so I kind had some trouble completing my tasks. Anyway, I am proud to have been able to do the scoop, one of the basics, after an hour of practicing thanks to my "bibo" of a classmate, Emman. He told me what I was doing wrong and how I should correct it. Although I got a bit dizzy while continuing my practice, got drenched in sweat, and stressed out my legs, it was still fun. I missed playing badminton ever since things got a little serious in the university.

Moving on, we also had an additional class for pharmacology at the end of our scheduled classes. While waiting for our professor to finish his other class, we decided to have a dare to see who will win against Emman. Three people agreed to have a match with him. I was not part of this though. I was an audience. Back to topic, they played inside the room. It was a really nice rally because there was a handicapped of not letting the shuttlecock hit the ceiling nor the fluorescent lights. The players were holding the racket past its handle. It was so funny how they do it. Everyone would yell when the challengers scores some nice hits and when one of them almost breaks a light. We were ready to flee if such things happen just to avoid having to write an incident report.

Generally, this was a very fulfilling, tiring, and fun day!!

A Dream and An Epic Failure of A Classmate

I'll first tell my dream. To not forget it, I even wrote it at the back of my notes as soon as I arrived at school earlier this morning. Here goes...

There was an event at school. A rumor was spreading around about ghosts and demons wandering around the campus. I got this information from a boy who passed by me in the corridor. When I turned to look at the boy once more, he had already disappeared. Instead, I saw a little bald child running towards me. I remembered what the boy told me.

"A demon sometimes walks down this hallway in the form of a child. He haunts classes until it ends and everyone leaves the room."
Scared, I ran to one of the classes and tried to blend in with the other students. The child soon got into the room and sat beside me. The child (or whatever that is) is trying really hard to get me to look at him. I feared that if I look straight into him, something bad will happen. I avoided that child until classes were over and I hurriedly went out of the room.

Outside, I saw familiar faces, Mel and Olivia, looking for someone. We all headed towards the school elevator but saw a huge number of students gathered around it pulling and pushing a wooden ram through the elevator doors. They were yelling something like...

"Spirits be gone! Spirits be gone!"

When the doors opened, one student went in and to everyone's surprise, the alarm sound went off. It was already overloaded with only one person inside. The group continued with what they were doing before and we proceeded to the other side. Suddenly, I got separated from my company. When I saw some other friends heading up the stairs, I decided to follow them. I was using the stairs to climb up since I had no other choice when those crazy students were up to their exorcism. I saw Mary Ann, our class president in high school, and I greeted back when she said hi to me. I continued on to climb up but I was feeling a little dizzy. The railing, the steps, they were all shaking slightly. When I reached the rooftop, my dizziness were so great I needed to sit it out. I only had so little time to admire the scene when a huge shake hit the area. I saw how another building collapsed. The shaking grew bigger instead of stopping. The building were we were at started collapsing, its great fall. My mind told me it was the end and all of the person I met a while ago and everyone I cared for flashed before my eyes. Were they able to escape? Was there an evacuation I had not known about? No. There could not have been one. I am still inside school premises even if I am on the roof. Questions still flooded my head. Will everyone below die? Or will they survive this crashing building? These questions continued until I lost consciousness.

When I came to, there was a man before me and told me that I was fine. I was not sure if he really was referring to me but I remembered the falling building. I rushed to see what happened to the others. I walked over to the site and found two guys on stretchers. Jeff and another guy had survived. Jeff gave me a high five and I said hi to the other guy. Then another guy in a stretcher was brought near us.It was my classmate, Matt. He has a lot of little wounds and the health team was applying some kind of blue ointment on it. I asked what it was for but they did not give me any in depth details.

After a while, my parents came to pick me up and so I bid the guys goodbye and had one last look upon the rubble piled on top of those I knew. At home, my parents served me all things I wanted but I asked for something not in the dining table. It was a squid.

Phew...this dream narration was rushed so it's really crappy. Anyway, I'll move to my fail of a classmate.
First class ended early so together with two other classmates, Mel and CG, we went for a walk around the university campus. At one point, we stumbled upon some posts by the medicine students about smoking and lung cancer awareness. We were reading what they did when Mel started pointing on one of the pictures, asking what that was. CG and I laughed our hearts out when the picture Mel was pointing at. She totally panicked!! Luckily, she has some micropore tape with her and decided to place the picture back in place. We moved closer as she finished to do so and found out she taped it wrong that the picture was 180 degrees rotated. It was totally hilarious if you were on the site. After that incident, we bumped into two applicants for the entrance examination and they asked Mel where they could find a photocopy machine. Mel pointed to the copier near us with NO ONE watching over it. She forgot that it was lunch break so no one would be staying at any other photocopy area. She even gave directions to the applicants before realizing that the areas would be open at around 1pm. Embarrassing? YES.

Lazy...Irritated...Moe...

I needed to finish my visual aids for my report on friday but I was too lazy to even start. I decided to read some manga online. I was in the middle of having fun when I received a message from our class president. It says, "We have classes tomorrow at 7am". And there I thought I could use the time for more research on our subject for requirements. Our professor also said we would not meet but there she goes taking her words back. Argh. It's kind of a drag when you already have something planned and all of a sudden it will be knocked down by someone. I rushed my reports, visuals, manga.

I figured I needed some break so I started playing an otome game I finished long ago. I got to see all the heroes' cute faces again. Ahhhh~ Oh...speaking of games, I finally finished playing GS2 after what, seven years(?), of not playing it at all. I was surprised that I could easily beat the boss of the game now. I had troubles back in elementary. Haha...pathetic, I know. But hey! I didn't even touch the game until recently when I started at the beginning again.

Well, enough for that now...I need to study for tomorrow's demonstration and quizzes. I need to straighten up if I were to succeed in this course.

The Start of a New Beginning

I am now of legal age and entering Erik Erikson's stage of intimacy vs isolation. I know I haven't had any experience when it comes to romantic relationships but I am kind of scared that I will not be able to handle both my studies and relationship well. I am hoping that soon I will be able to understand many of my peers' viewpoint when it comes to romance although I am still preparing for my own experience on such things.

Anyway, I'll be giving updates here about my reality and imagination. Just keep watch~
